Home-made Panna Cotta!

Ever since i landed myself here in Nizhny Novgorod, i started to have this cooking interest in me. Was brought up in a fully residential school for 5 years, i hardly had the time to learn anything about cooking. I couldn't even make nasi goreng back then!

Okay,back to where i am, i can say that i am now a much better cook. Even mom trusted me in my cooking ( sort of la!i'm the one in charge of the kitchen whenever she's late for work!haha)."_"

Apart from being a good and successful doctor one day, my dream is to have my own coffee house. Something like The Loaf.hehe..yes..something similar:)

Remember my previous post regarding this Panna Cotta dessert? I successfully made one today! I was inspired by the videos posted on YouTube..and so i decided to make them.

So here you go! A vanilla Panna Cotta served with home-made strawberry compote.

BBQ Spring Time!

The sun is back and so does the BBQ session! I love BBQs...provided you have the right crowd. Well, ours went well yesterday,had it together with some friends. Not the usual people this time, but shall be having another one with my darling babes probably next week! So yes..more makan2...!* i'll promise to lose some weights during the exam period!*.LOL:p

It was a simple one, as compared to our previous BBQ party. No fancy salad whatnot. But we had some sausages sashlik and my marinade was wayyyy good too this time.:)

Had a good dinner with some friends over Laksa Sarawak and Nasi Lemak later at night..!and now that it is Sunday today, i woke up around noon..feeling so refresh!

Its time to start revising my pharmacology!!

Panna Kotta!and a restaurant review.

Eversince my last few posts in my FB/Blogspot , some of my friends refer me as Nizhny Novgorod *unofficial*tourism center. hahahaha! I am very glad to share my experiences while i am still here. at least i get to give some sneak peak to the juniors/future junior about this city. Well, it is not that plain boring after all.

So here once again....another newly opened coffee house in Pakrovskaya. It's called "Sharlots Cafe."

• The ambience is perfect. Almost similar to Karamel ( Gorkova), Tiffany(Minina) and Pizzaria( Minina).
• Among all other 3 cafes mentioned, this is by far the cheapest.Portion is quite big too.
• Service is quite slow ( and thats because i think its still new). Waiter & waitress are splendidly polite and friendly.
• The most important: Food presentation is excellent and tasted GOOD!

They had a promotion kinda thing on that particular day...so i ordered their in house specialty. It is called 'Sharlot's Cake'.Basically its an apple cake with a crusted top served with very yummy vanilla sauce!

This is what a Panna Kotta looks like! A famous Italian dessert made out of full cream! Marvelous and irresistible. It suits farid very well though..because it is definitely so fattening!;p

My first time sauna-ing!

Another meaningful weekend! While most of my friends are enjoying their weekend attending our Malaysian Intervarsity Games in Kursk, we decided to have some fun here in Nizhny.

My first time ever experiencing Russian Sauna in Alexandrovsky Sad Hotel.

So basically, we opted for the biggest room with one large pool, a jacuzzi, one sauna, 2 showers with rooms to change and to relax.and the best part, we had ABBA songs on air.and also err..Paris Hilton.hahaha!

Here you can see me enjoying myself being in the sauna. Dearest mama, please continue with your spa business with this sauna technology.Trust me, i think it really works! You'll sweat like for real!! No wonder these Russian people have nice figure!!

One thing you guys should know is that...i freaking not know how to swim!! So err...i think jacuzzi is just me-thing.hahahaha. and piggy backing people is nice also.hahaha:)

my first hovercraft ride!

It's been a wonderful weekend! No..not any shopping trip or porsh dining out. Instead, i went all out on my first time ever being on board this yellow machine! Yes, after 24 years of life :).

Had our express lunch in Mcdonalds and then off we go..!:).

Was acting cool with that super big hair dryer!haha. These girls made me do this! Do you think A Cut Above would want to hire me as their model?pfffttt"_____".

Well, from the picture above, you can't really tell our age difference don't you?hehehe.

Then come the dessert time!This mango thing is very nice and not so sweet. Just nice! Yummy.

Ok, its weighing scale time! errr....maybe a glucometer is a better option ;p.

Spring is here!!

The spring is here,finally..with an average temperature of 11-18 'C.

Picture taken over seeing the Volga river! One of the best spot in Nizhny Novgorod i supposed. Such a breathtaking scenery and do enjoy some ice creams too while you're there:).

On a different note, i feel much at ease with no hijab at the moment, prior to the Moscow bombing attack.I've experienced some issues while i was travelling to my classes especially during peak hours and so i decided to put it on hold for the time being.

Otherwise, life is good!
