Two Thousand Fourteen!

Its been long since my last post and hey, its 2014!
Salam and a very good day :)

Wedding story
We've had both of our wedding receptions done beautifully, Alhamdulillah. My husband's side was held last December, 4 months apart from our solemnization. Albeit the chaotic situation we've had a few weeks prior to the event ( his beloved grandmother passed to our Almighty creator), it went well. Thank you everyone who'd came to make the event a successful one. If i were to write a whole lot review of my wedding whereabouts, that'll be long!but then again, i shall try.

Work-related
I am now attached to Radiotherapy & Oncology Dept in HKL. The youngest officer with a big heart in the field i hope :)
Insyallah with Allah's willing, i will work my steps up to being an oncologist. So far things are going on quite well although baby stepping. A lot to learn...and i mean it.

Social
A lot more friends are about to / got married recently.Congratulations guys!My husband and i are trying our best to make time for all the invitations especially to those who'd made it to ours. The best time to meet up with the old friends and make friends with the new ones *hands up if you sense sarcasm here*

On the other hand, we're bound for a trip abroad pretty soon.
I will keep this space updated from time to time.
Been missing my blogging days!

Till then,
cheers!

Wedding attire

More wedding updates!

1. Solemnization

A tulip-cutting' kurung' by Rico Rinaldi, a young upcoming designer in the country.
Since mom insisted in buying our own materials, we had the Sophie Hallete french lace from Jakarta and brought it over to Rico for him to design a simple kurung for me (to suit my definitely-not-hour glass body shape.haha!)

Tips for bride to be:
1. Find your designer first. Get opinions from him/her and details about what suits you and what not. Get him/her to sketch your dream dress together with the amount of materials needed ( eg: lace 2.5 m, chiffon 6m..etc etc)
2.Find the materials. Best for french lace is in Jakarta and second in Arab st, Singapore. Well unless if money is not an issue, you can find nice ones in Jakel too but err...not as much as what they offer in Alta Moda, Jakarta :P

2. Wedding reception

I opted for an Indonesian Kebaya and yes, in pink ( my forever favourite colour).
Had it designed with passion and absolute wonder by an Indonesian designer, Ferry Sunarto in Jakarta. A very humble chap with a big name in the industry.
Feel free to look up for his website and PM me for his contact if you're interested :)

That's all about the the dresses and  alhamdulillah i am very happy with the outcomes.
To Pak Ferry and Mas Rudhi ( i think you'll be reading this post), Terima Kasih, dan moga ketemu lagi di Jakarta.
As for Rico Rinaldi,i'll be having him again for my 2nd reception soon, looking forward for it to be ready.
(Hint: another french lace story..:)

and to the rest of you bride-to-be, you can PM me if you're interested in getting any of their services,
Well, sharing is caring :)

Wedding reception - Decoration

The event was followed by our wedding reception in the afternoon. It was only about 2-3 hours after our solemnization and of course, the overwhelmed feeling from our akad was still so fresh. Yes, if you noticed, both of us were grinning from one end to the other, occasionally. Well, the advantage of doing both ceremonies altogether, it seems :)

With the background song of Mencintaimu by Krisdayanti, it was good to see familiar faces during our entrance into the ballroom. Although it was a non-seated dinner like the usual ( dad veto-ed, ok fine),we've made it possible in arranging the ballroom layout so that everything will go as smooth, Alhamdulillah.

Again, our pelamin was made do by Ari Wedding Couture, KL. Simple with elegance, just the way i want it to be. They are a team of very talented young designers and very helpful in almost everything and of course very reliable too. I totally had my 110% trust on them in designing both of the 2 most important events in my life. Due to time constrain, my first glance of both ballroom was when i entered them on the day itself!
Pheewww!
Price tag wise, they're able to work with your budget. If you're interested in knowing more, feel free to contact them via their FB page or can call up their office at 03-4287 9659.

To summarize:

Venue: Grand ballroom, Tropicana Golf & Country Resort
Decorator: Ari Wedding Couture, Kuala Lumpur

Up next: Wedding dress :)

Solemnization

Date: August 18, 2013

Solemnization

It was a very intimate ceremony witnessed by family and close friends from both sides on that very same day. I was very happy and contented with practically everything!
My dress, my make up, the hall decoration, everything. I was perhaps too cool ( and cold!), and so did mom and dad ( mom was in- fact babbling and repeating whatever the imam says while she was sitting next to me on the dais! )Way too cool this family i tell you.
Thankfully, we had not much of a teary-filled atmosphere and i am so very glad for my make up was there being neat and perfect at all time. :)

To summarize:
  • Venue: Greens III ballroom, Tropicana Golf  and Country Resort
  • Dress: Rico Rinaldi, Kuala Lumpur
  • Decorator: Ari Wedding Couture, Kuala Lumpur
  • Make up: Sue Cantek
  • Photographer: Ministry of Moment
  • Videographer: Anak Wayang

Will update more on each of them in my upcoming post.
For now, stay tune :)

39 days....

Here's a preview of our wedding invitation.
Simple and very straight forward, no' pantun-pantun' ( read: poem) whatsoever :P

39 more days to go!
feeling? Just like the usual. I supposed 'the' feeling has not yet kick in. When will it appear ehy?
*scratch forehead*

More and more friends have been flooding me with questions regarding my preparation.
Let me share with you that our wedding will be a one day event only.
From solemnization to wedding reception. All in ONE day.
and of course, a very simple and intimate wedding event.

Perhaps if you're in my FB page, you will be quite on with updates, don't you?Sorry for flooding you wall with it but we ( the future bride and groom) are just too happy. hehe.
Well, most of the preparations are on going at the moment, i have my fabulous doctor -mother as the main wedding planner. I, on the other hand, is busy at work. Cliche!

45 days away

....Yes..45 days more!
still the usual me, well, nothing seems to change ( yet)
haha!

Boss #1 and me during our recent Jakarta trip.

and the boss #2 helping out with our invitation.
longer nights nowadays , i tell you.

Work on the other hand...is pretty good.
I am now in my last posting of HO - hood, Anesthesiology.
Things have been working out quite good over there, but still i am pretty much slow in terms of catching up with the new stuff. Everything seems so new.:P

Else, life is pretty much concentrating towards the wedding. The first event for both family. Quite a havoc i sense since everyone is being super excited! So far things are quite on the right track, but still a lot to be done. Oh , dresses and shoes are well taken care of and they're pretty awesome, Alhamdulillah.
Will definitely do the update regarding my wedding preparations ( been getting a lot about that..let's just wait for the right time kay.)

Till then,
cheers!
